The Effect of QE on Unemployment

Today's unemployment number was poor, and of course many are using that as an opportunity to call for yet another round of QE.  Given that QE1 and QE2 had a great effect on boosting inflation and asset prices, but little effect on the unemployment rate, what's the rationale?
